After breakfast, continue trekking through the forest into the heath and moorland zone. The trail becomes steeper, offering stunning views as the landscape opens up.

Arrive at Shira Camp located on the Shira Plateau, with expansive views of Kibo Peak.

This is a key acclimatization day. Trek upward toward Lava Tower (4,630m), allowing your body to adjust to higher altitude, before descending to Barranco Camp.

This “climb high, sleep low” approach greatly improves acclimatization and summit success.

Overnight: Barranco Camp

After breakfast, climb the famous Barranco Wall, a non-technical but exciting scramble offering spectacular views. Continue trekking across ridges and valleys to Karanga Camp.

This shorter day allows additional acclimatization before the summit push.

Overnight: Karanga Camp

After breakfast, trek steadily toward Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit attempt. Arrive early, rest, and prepare for the night summit climb.

Overnight: Barafu Camp

Begin the summit attempt around midnight. Trek to Stella Point and continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.

After photos and celebration, descend to Mweka Camp for a short rest, then continue down to Mweka Gate. Receive your summit certificate and transfer back to Moshi or Arusha.
